"Transitions" quilt - graduation gift for my cousin

This is part of a quilt that my niece Alyssa and I are making for my cousin's daughter Sachi.Piecing the strips is fast, but then all the blocks have bias edges!
Our Stitch and Bitch quilt group was started in 1990 in Silver Spring, Maryland. We started out as a group of 4 women who worked for a consulting firm with a very visible glass ceiling. We've long ago left that consulting firm and have added more members to our group. We still get together once a month for a great time of bitching and stitching.
