Progress!

Wow, look at Kim go with her knitted chenille scarf - this is the yarn we all had so much fun with last month! Good thing she's so far along since her friend that's making the matching gloves already has one done and is over halfway through the other.

And Lori's well into the constructive destruction necessary to replace her absolute favorite bathrobe.

Rose Parade floats

Here are a few photos that show parts of the beautiful floats

I don't have photos of my fabric purchases in L.A. Alyssa has already done "her part" of the quilt for her brother, so I expect to get her squares in the mail next week.

Fabric shopping in Los Angeles garment district

The place to go shopping is Michael Levine on Maple! The regular price for the quilting cottons was about $8.50/yd. They had several Kaffe Fassetts for $5/yd, so I picked up a FEW yards, really, only a few, I hope you believe me.

On Friday, Dec 31, Alyssa took me to the Patchwork Penguin in Tujunga, not too far from my sister's house in La Canada, where they had an excellent selection of Asian prints. They had bought the remaining stock from another store that went out of business. We had fun picking out fabrics to make a quilt for my nephew, Ken.

The Rose Parade floats were just beautiful. I will post a few photos later.
Happy New Year everyone! See you at TRB.
